This Week! ‘Coffee With A Cop’ at TAMU

Coffee-with-a-CopThe Texas A&M University Police Department will host “Coffee with a Cop” Thursday, April 27.

From 8:30-10:30 a.m. in the main lobby on the first floor of Sterling C. Evans Library, students, faculty and staff will have the opportunity to meet with university police officers, voice concerns and engage in a dialogue about campus safety and policing.

Coffee with a Cop is a national initiative supported by The United States Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services. Similar events are being held, across the county, as local police departments strive to make lasting connections with the communities they serve.

Coffee with a Cop provides a unique opportunity for members of the campus community to ask questions and learn more about their police department. It allows a positive interaction between community members and law enforcement officers in a relaxed environment, while making lasting connections with the community.

The program aims to advance the practice of community policing through improving relationships between police officers and community members one cup of coffee at a

time.
