The Spirit of Texas Festival, presented by H-E-B Creamy Creations, will host the area’s largest watch party – complete with a 9’x16’ high-def Jumbotron — to cheer on the Texas A&M’s men’s basketball team during the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament on Thursday, March 22. Gates at College Station’s Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater will open at 5 p.m. and admission is free. The game’s tip-off is at 6:30 p.m.
Food, beer and cocktails will be available for purchase. Guests also should plan on bringing lawn chairs or blankets to spread out on the hill to cheer on the Aggies as they take on Michigan in the Sweet 16.
“Watching the Aggies compete in the Sweet 16 is a great way to kick off the festival,” said Cynthia Caronna, executive director and founder of the Spirit of Texas Festival. “We want Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater to be packed with cheering Aggies as we BTHO Michigan. And then we want them to come back over the weekend to take part in all of our activities, including helping us break to break the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title by building and eating the longest ice-cream dessert on Saturday.”
